with Stephen Harrod Buhner, master herbalist
I have found that I have cysts all over the place. Some are just below the skin. I noticed when I took antibiotics that they became more numerous. Is this a cyst of Lyme spirochetes and if so, how do I get rid of the cyst form as there are many, many cysts throughout my body. Does artemisinin target the cyst form—and if so was that why I had a severe reaction to ART?
Stephen’s response:
I have never heard of this before. The lyme cysts that I have studies are so small that they do not create noticible cyst formations. Have you had a health practitioner look at them to determine what they are?

I had a similar cyst/skin eruption when I began on antibiotics. I imagine this is commmon, if your skin tends to be a system affected by your Lyme. Lyme retreats into cyst from as a sort of hibernation when it is in a hostile environment (like when you take antibiotics.)
At month three, taking two antibiotics, I was also given a “cystbuster” antibiotic, which targets the basteria in it’s “dormant” or cyst, stage.
The cysts slowly resolved, as the drug broke down the cysts and the antibiotic combination killed off the bacteria, in it’s various life (and dormancy) stages.
