with Stephen Harrod Buhner, master herbalist
I would like to start your herbal protocol, but am not sure which herbs to start first. I would like to do one at a time and add in slowly. My symptoms of lyme include myoclonus seizures, imbalance, sensitivity to stimuli such as noise and crowds, some tingling in hands and feet, high ear pressure, and fatigue. Finally will any of the herbs affect my seizures medication of Klonopin (clonazepam)? Does smilax need to be taken away from other herbs, meds, or supplements as it detoxes? Your help is appreciated.
Stephen’s response:
Please check my book Healing Lyme for drug/herb interactions. If nothing is listed about your particular medication or medication group then there was nothing in the literature to indicate a problem. I would begin with cat’s claw, knotweed, and eleutherococcus. B-12 for tingling. Smilax does not need, as far as I am aware, to be taken away from other herbs.
