Is there a correlation between electromagnetic sensitivity and chemical sensitivity?
Dr. Rea’s response:
Yes, there can be a correlation between the two problems. Both can be due to excessive exposures which can affect the same organs. Both can create problems with memory, nerve transmission, blood vessel inflammation, and immune system and organ functioning. Sometimes EMF is associated with metal toxicity. Both metal and chemical toxicity can be related to poor Phase I and Phase II detoxification. Evaluation and repair of this enzyme system can be essential to achieve symptom reduction. Similar measures are used to treat the symptoms.
Reducing the toxic body burden can be an effective treatment tool in both cases. Avoidance of exposure to the offending agents and environmental controls are essential treatment options in both cases. Reducing any allergic responses is important. Avoidance of metal and chemical contamination in the food and water supply is an important consideration for recovery.
Treatment involves similar methods due to similarity of organs affected through excessive exposures. In both cases symptom reduction is achieved through skin testing and treatment, oxygen therapy, immune modulation, IV and oral supplementation, and deep heat chamber chemical and metal detoxification.
