Managing MCS
Creating a safe RV

Dear Dr. Rea,
I have MCS and currently live in a safe home. I want to visit relatives in Washington state but will need a safe mode of transportation there and while staying there. I am considering purchasing a mid to late 90′s model motorhome. What modifications would you suggest to make this a safe unit? Thanks so much!

Dr. Rea’s response:
It would be very difficult to make this a safe unit. Some basic suggestions include ripping out all the plywood to the walls. You’ll need an extremely long cord for the generator. Do not use gas for cooking or heating.

[Note from editor: Try looking at the housing ads in CIIN's Our Toxic Times newsletter; they usually have several trailers for sale that have already been refurbished for someone with severe chemical sensitivities. You can also check MCSsafehome.com's trailer listings.]
