Managing MCS
Circulation issues

Environmental Health

Dear Dr. Rea,
A good friend of mine has severe EI, is housebound and unable to use the computer, and has had circulation issues for over five years – especially in her hands and feet. Her feet are both swollen with edema and have a patchy brown rash. Her hands/fingers are usually bright red/purple, supposedly due to Raynaud’s Disease. Have you seen patients who have overcome these conditions? Can you recommend supplements, lifestyle changes, and other options for helping her to relieve these health issues? Thank you!

Dr. Rea’s response:
Yes, I have seen patients overcome these types of health conditions using a multi-tiered approach that addresses avoidance, skin testing for foods, molds and chemicals, oxygen therapy, nutrient therapy, and immune modulators.

We offer all of these approaches at our Environmental Health Center in Dallas. Avoidance must be done properly, and include not just chemicals but EMFs and other invisible triggers/stressors (like mold) in the home and work environments.

Skin testing for sensitivities and allergies should be followed up with appropriate neutralization shots.

For oxygen therapy, I recommend to my patients to use oxygen for two hours per day, 4-8 liters per minute. Our foundation can provide the entire set of equipment needed for oxygen therapy including ceramic masks, tygon tubing and stainless steel tubing. You can purchase these through our website or call 800.428.2343.

Nutrient therapy includes a rotation diet (based on skin testing) and vitamin IVs. You can purchase our Rotation Diet recipe book by calling our Foundation as well.

We also recommend various immune modulators based on the individual’s needs.
