Managing MCS
Detoxification pathways
with William J. Rea, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.A.E.M.

Environmental Health

Dear Dr. Rea,
In November 2008 I had a drug-food interaction that has severely affected my ability to detoxify anything I touch, breath or eat. I have been trapped in my bedroom since. In addition to avoidance and nutrition I have been inducing some of the P450/Phase II enzymes with food and have had some success (I can now use my computer and sit on my bed). Can the detox pathways be permanently repaired and if so to what extent? Can you recommend any research, reading or resources which can be helpful? Thank you.

Dr. Rea’s response:
Yes, most times the detoxification pathways can be repaired completely. In other patients, they can at least be repaired partially. I can recommend my books Chemical Sensitivity (Volumes I-IV) and Optimum Environments for Optimum Health and Creativity for further research.
