I thought the EI people were all aware that Autism is a form of EI. I subscribe to Age of Autism and always read any Autism news with interest, knowing that it all applies to me as well. I do wish ALL the different symptom* groups of EI would realize that's exactly what they are, come together, and fight for chemical, pharma, health care, food, environmental, and housing regulations (what did I leave out?... oh yes and respect, validation, and benefits for all who need it)

*I can barely stand to hear all these things being called "diseases" now that I see them all as symptoms of toxic overload and malnutrition... MCS, CFS, fibromyalgia, cancer, Autism, ADHD, depression, anxiety (all "mental" illness), PTSD, IBS, allergies, asthma, learning disabilities, obesity, diabetes, MS, auto-immune diseases, alzheimer's... you name it, there is an environmental contributor. Come on people, get it together. Are any of our advocates working to win over members of other groups? I have had this daydream of starting a non-profit whose mission is simply to educate OTHER non-profits about EI and how their disease/cause fits in, and have everyone join together in our fight against the things that are making us ALL ill (and the powers that are attacking our doctors and all others who support us).

Of course you know the Autism community itself is divided... those like Generation Rescue, who are aware of the toxic causes of Autism, are a world away from, say, Autism Speaks.

I'm with you you Julie! We're about to release the DVD to Black Mold Exposure and we have a program to help fund causes, ANY cause, and I can't find an organization that helps EI folks like this one.

It's amazing to me that the autism community is mirroring the EI community but neither seems aware of it. Very similar causes (a variety of environmental injuries), similar symptoms (gut, viral/bacterial infections, brain damage, social issues, chemical and electrical and other sensitivities, etc), and similar treatments (gluten/casein free diet, sauna, supplements to treat imbalances and infections, brain exercises, avoidance of chemicals etc), and even similar physicians - e.g. Dr. Yasko, Dr. Klinghardt, Dr. Buttar, etc.

The big difference being that the autism community has more funding, more doctors, more activism due to the 'angry mom army' working tirelessly to save their kids.

Where are our advocates? Aren't we fighting for the same things? Can we join together and unite in our efforts? This is my question to both communities. We are all part of the same problem, and the same solution.
