Environmental Health

Dear Dr. Rea,
I’ve had MCS since I was a child but about a year and a half ago, I was exposed to a creosote chimney fire that completely disabled me and I am now bedridden 20 hours a day. I get brain seizures, paralyzed from the waist down, and even blind and mute from certain exposures. Creosote is a phenol and I am wondering if you have any advice for recovery that won’t push me over the edge. To complicate matters, I have an MCS/EI safe house solar condo in a eco green built village outside Boulder, Colorado and I just found out that Dursban is being sprayed as pesticide throughout the eco village. I am currently on a program to stay asymptomatic and a supplement program, both from Dr. Sherry Rogers. I produce zero superoxide dismutase (SOD), all five detox pathways are inert and are being repaired, I detox thru a protein pathway, and all organ and enzyme systems are broken and are being repaired. I am a universal reactor who goes into brain seizures lasting 1 hour to 131 hours per seizure when triggered. My EI safe house is safe inside, providing asymptomatic place to heal. Is selling my just-moved-in EI home, that is working for me, (after living in my car) my only way to protect myself from Dursban pesticide? Besides selling and moving, what supplements or therapies can I do to protect myself?

Dr. Rea’s response:
You have some detoxification function or you wouldn’t be alive. You need:

• Massive avoidance of inhaled, ingested, or dermal pollutants in air, food and water;
• Check and get help from an environmental pollution specialist
• Mold, food, chemical injection neutralization
• Nutrient supplementation
• Immune modulation (i.e., autogenous lymphocyte factor – ALF), gamma globulin
• Oxygen therapy

As far as the Dursban is concerned, I recommend you use air filters at the doors. Don’t move – see how you do in the Fall and WInter.
