BuhnerHealingLyme.com homepagePlanet Thrive is proud to introduce a new stand-alone, satellite website for the Buhner Healing Lyme herbal protocol for lyme disease and other tick-borne infections at: buhnerhealinglyme.com. Herbalist and author Stephen Harrod Buhner published his book Healing Lyme: Natural Healing & Prevention of Lyme Borreliosis & Its Co-infections in 2005 and has been answering Planet Thrive reader questions about his protocol since October 2006. Five years and hundreds of Q & As later, we still receive many questions every month and the column is one of the most viewed sections of our website. Due to the ongoing popularity of Stephen’s column, we decided to give it its own website where we could provide lyme sufferers worldwide with more comprehensive access to this growing library of invaluable information.

The homepage features a tabbed box that shares background details on Stephen Buhner and his book Healing Lyme, as well as his lyme treatment philosophy and an outline of the core protocol. In addition to the expected “recent Q & As” listing also on the homepage, visitors can find information and reviews on the Healing Lyme book, a brief biography of herbalist Stephen Buhner, FAQs (frequently asked questions), an herb source listing, an online bookstore, herb cautions, and access to the support group “Lyme-Aid-Buhner” on yahoogroups.com – all in the top level navigation menu.

In the lower navigation menu, readers can find the archives for all past Q & As related to specific topics. For instance, under “Transmission” you can choose from: recent tick bites, tick carriers, food/eating, sexual transmission, breastfeeding, pregnancy, and prevention. You can also use the search feature in the right hand column to search for any term on the site.

If you’d like to receive e-mail notifications for new Q & As posted to the site, enter your e-mail address in the appropriate space in the upper right column.

Visitors can use a special coupon code provided on the homepage to get 10% off of all 1st Chinese Herbs products, except for book sales. A coupon code is also provided for $5.00 off first-time purchases at iHerb.com.

As noted in the FAQs section of the site, Stephen estimates that, in general, 75% of people who use the Healing Lyme herbal protocol as a core treatment regimen feel that they are cured. Another 15% experience the reduction of most, if not all, symptoms. Five percent experience some relief. Five percent experience no help.

He explains in a recent Q & A:

My protocol is NOT intended to be THE answer, just a reliable one that, WITH MODIFICATION, will be effective for the largest number of people possible. HOWEVER, it, like all lyme protocols, needs to be modified for each person who takes it – something I make clear in the book. There is no one picture answer for lyme.”

This protocol was incredible. After only a few weeks most of my symptoms were gone. After six months all my symptoms were gone… it has given me my life back.

Please note:

Stephen Buhner is no longer living and this Q + A column on Planet Thrive is closed to new questions. It will be kept on our website so readers can access vital information in the archives, communicate with each other in the comments section, and find herbs, books + lyme adjuncts in our directory. If you want to read more of Stephen’s writings, please see his website at: stephenharrodbuhner.com.

The new Buhner website looks great. It is still missing one feature that I think could be very helpful. People cannot comment on the questions and answers. I have seen questions from time to time that may need further explanation from other lyme patients. For example — there was a question recently regarding someone feeling bad after taking turmeric. Stephen did not address the possibility that the person may have babesia and that could cause a reaction to the herb turmeric — especially at a high dose of the herb.

Thanks Bea! I agree that being able to comment on the questions would be a great feature. However, in all the years of doing this on Planet Thrive, very rarely would anyone comment on the actual post. Most of the comments left were people submitting new questions to the column. If the comments section had been used as a space for dialogue and information sharing I would have definitely kept the comments open on this new site. However, the comments area only resulted in more work for me, requiring me to respond and tell people the correct way to post a question. I just got tired of it. Maybe down the line I will activate the comments section. I appreciate the feedback and if you have any other suggestions about the site, please let me know. Best, Julie

Bea, I want to thank you for leaving your comment here. I thought about it, and decided to open up comments on new posts. I put a reminder to folks not to submit questions on the comments section so hopefully that will put an end to that issue. Thank you for helping make the site better! x Julie

On a Facebook Lyme group saw a recipe for steroid disaster tea. What if the recipe ? Will place the recipe in my two copies of “Healing Lyme” and my new just ordered copy.

hi, if i use the protocol from the book, healing lyme, which was in 2005, will it be effective, or do i need to get the most recent lyme book?
