my mood today

about me
I am a 55 year old woman from NH who has been MCS most of my life and could always manage it from limiting exposures and living a "clean" life in the mountains in my green home. However, in 2004 my basement started to grown mold as a result of adding a deck around my home and causing a "damp" problem. I proceeded to clean the mold myself for about three days and ended up in the hospital for a week and they could not determine what was happening to me. They DID however, agree that I was sick and I was not told it was in my mind like so many people I have met. I was diagnosed with mycotoxicosis by Dr. Croft after sending him urine for tricothecene testing and it was very high. I went to Boston for Iv's etc. for a year and then came to Dallas and have been here for two years, with some improvement and then ended up in a moldy hotel and regressed quickly. I am at the moment feeling the same way I did 2 years ago after spending a slight fortune here. I have now learned that a SAFE place is the MOST important thing for recovery and I have yet to find that. I am pleased to find another web sight and forum to learn and discuss mold and MCS issues and looking forward to being an active member. Thanks-

Hi Diane, So sorry that your green home became mold infested. That is so terrible. Mold is such a problem everywhere, in both humid and dry locales! I agree with you that finding a safe home is most important. We are all on that same search. Sending blessings that you will find your safe haven one day soon. Much peace, Julie send comment back
