about me
challenged with environmental illness since 2001 as a result of occupational exposures to commonly used toxins as an architect and compound exposures to secondhand smoke, copy/fax/plotter ink from a huge printer station near my desk, spray glue and a miasma of other toxins in a poorly ventilated workplace. intolerant of EMFs as a result of using an electric blanket while trying to recover. After struggling through 7 years of drastic lifestyle changes (including moving out of the city center) and slow but steady recovery, am currently able to work and enjoy a comfortable and peaceful symptom- and stress-free life.

To maintain my health I practice avoidance (of stress, toxins in air, food, water, all western meds), follow a macrobiotic-based vegan-centered diet, use herbal treatments (traditional Japanese kampo medicine and folk remedies), and honor mother earth by nuturing the land currently under my care.

I appreciate your suggestions and support. I cry every night and am feeling really, really desperate. Everyone wants to say, "It's okay, you'll get better." I have lost hope until getting into this forum and another one about MCS. What's EMF-Sensitivity? How does it develop? How do you practice "strict avoidance" of non-organic stuff when it is so expensive and it's everywhere! (At least in the U.S.) I will buy organic supplies tomorrow. Thanks again, Linda G.

You better be resting those legs and staying away from the pc (forgive this post which will momentarily draw you back...). But from what I hear you are enjoying the most healthful of pregnancies which is a true testament to the healing journey you've been on, and the perfect result of it. Thanks for always inspiring and supporting and loving. xxx julie

Thank you ecosis. I so liked your answer regarding how your "body wants to heal and is my ally." I'm finding the individual insight people have here is very valuable. Ahh, and Kudos to taking note of what the word Nozomi means (hope/wish):)

nice to get acquainted with you!

:) I have been feeling terrible since I moved to this newly build condo, particularly in the past few weeks. I now understand that I am suffering from mcs. People here in Japan are not well-informed of. On top of that, they believe in whatever they are told by someone in authority. For example, I have been objecting to spraying pesticide in our building. Surprisingly, one recently shouted me, "What's wrong with spraying pesticide!" Oh my goodness! I hope I will be able to get some helpful information from the members of this forum. Thank you.
