I have been ill since 1983, discovered I had MCS after a furnace accident in 2003 - with exposures to carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, paint fumes and polyurethane.

Former monastic, still engaged in spiritual disciplines, pursuit.

Former activist in peace movement, environmental movement, human rights, other.

Writer, performer and dabbler in visual arts. Written non-fiction articles, but mostly poetry and comedy. Performed mostly poetry, some comedy, acting and MC work

For years I would get Our Toxic Times sent "Anonymous," hide behind a profile without a photo, not let people know how sick I am, write many a journal for no eyes to ever see...The strength & vulnerability you (& earthwalker) are willing to show with your openness is admired. Hi Jon, I think we celebrated my birthday on your birthday. The thing I learned from hitch hiking was that you always stayed in one place until you no longer had any expectation of getting anywhere else. Then something unexpected would immediately happen. I was stuck once in Texas Creek, Colorado in the middle of the Rockies for three days with less than a handful of vehicles passing each day. I finally gave up and started walking and was immediately picked up by a guy who took me all the way to Prescott. Similar experiences through the heartland. Some generous soul always found me. As we hold out our empty bowls at the temple.
