My grandfather once said "All things in life are absurd, especially people." As I grow older I see the wisdom in his comment but having several chronic conditions find it hard to follow his dictate not to take it all so seriously. Serious illness is serious business and yes, it can seem absurd. I have been dealing with chronic illness and it's aftermath for 12 years. I have come to a place of peace about it and am exploring who I am again within this scope and frame of living day to day with pain. Most of the time I don't think I do a good job of it, symptoms can become your personality if you let them. I take it one day at a time and try to hold on for something grander.
