I need to take propranolol for my chronic headaches. I also have chronic lyme and would like to take stephania. In Healing Lyme you state that stephania is not recommended for people on beta blockers. Why? What would happen then? I already take andrographis, cat’s claw, resveratrol and olive leaf extract, as well as serrapeptase and nattokinase. Regards.
Calcium channel blockers (which stephania is) and beta-blockers are not usually taken together because of potential additive effects; they both have effects on the heart and the two together can sometimes be too much.
is stephania root extract from montana farmacy okay to take with preservative free cosopt eye drops. cosopt does have a beta blocker but not sure if it’s effect are systemic.
thank, Matt Harris
Beta blockers and Calcium Channel blockers are both blood pressure medications. So unless you want to dangerously drop your blood pressure and pass out or worse, then don’t take Stephania and beta blockers or other blood pressure meds together. I have a kid on Propanolol for rage/aggression/anxiety due to Bartonella/AE. I would not go within a 100 mile radius of him with Stephania for safety reasons. I would however, use it on myself as I don’t take an BP meds.
