Dear Stephen,
My grown daughter has a severe case of late stage lyme disease. She has been on antibiotics for approximately 1 1/2 yrs, now taking via IV therapy. She has suffered unrelenting pain, nausea, weakness, etc. I came across the Healing Lyme book and would like to try your suggestions in conjunction with antibiotics. I need direction from someone extremely familiar with your protocol, as her condition is fragile. She lives in the Sacramento, CA area and currently is under care of Dr. H and his colleagues. She really needs additional help from someone that is easy to contact and quick to respond to concerns. Thank you.
Stephen’s response:
I don’t know of any herbalists in that area but can suggest a couple of things. Try these people who are around Mt. Shasta, I like their work: blueotterschool.com/bios-consultations You can also try and call the California School of Herbal Studies and ask for someone familiar with my protocol. Be clear on this point. 9309 Hwy 116 Forestville, CA 95436-9235, (707) 887-7457. You can also try Tedde Rinker, D.O. in Redwood City, CA. she has used my protocol in the past. Not sure what is up with Dr. H as I have met him several times and he seemed up on my protocol then, but it has been a few years. I think this long on antibiotics, IV, without significant improvement indicates a need for a change in approach.

Stephen Harrod Buhner was an Earth poet and an award-winning author of twenty-four books on nature, indigenous cultures, the environment, and herbal medicine including the acclaimed book Healing Lyme: Natural Healing & Prevention of Lyme Borreliosis & Its Co-infections.
Stephen came from a long line of healers including Leroy Burney, Surgeon General of the United States under Eisenhower and Kennedy, and Elizabeth Lusterheide, a midwife and herbalist who worked in rural Indiana in the early nineteenth century. The greatest influence on his work, however, was his great-grandfather C.G. Harrod who primarily used botanical medicines, also in rural Indiana, when he began his work as a physician in 1911.
Stephen’s work has appeared or been profiled in publications throughout North America and Europe including Common Boundary, Apotheosis, Shaman’s Drum, The New York Times, CNN, and Good Morning America. Stephen lectured yearly throughout the United States on herbal medicine, the sacredness of plants, the intelligence of Nature, and the states of mind necessary for successful habitation of Earth.
He was a tireless advocate for the reincorporation of the exploratory artist, independent scholar, amateur naturalist, and citizen scientist in American society – especially as a counterweight to the influence of corporate science and technology.

Hello,
I am writing to you in my desperate need of help for my husband with chronic late stage Lyme’s, he has Borrelia Burgderferi, we have tried to find a Dr. that is in the area and treats the disease with antibiotic therapy. He was diagnosed from Pacific Frontier Medical Grp. Unfortunately they do not take insurance ( I have insurance that will consider 100% payment of service). I am grasping as he is getting worst each day, he is now unable to read and his memory is getting worst and his joints are severely in pain. I am looking for anything to review or get information on, I need any help available.
Thank You
