After being on and off of a lower dose of Bicillin for a year and a half, my doctors recently increased my dosage to 1.2mu q 3 days. About the same time, I was reaching the maximum dosages of your core protocol (16/day each of andro, cat’s claw, and reservatrol). I felt that caused a much deeper herx than I’d had in quite a while, with notably my spinal cord aching significantly more than usual. This seems like a good sign that sufficient quantities of drug/herbs is reaching that area. My sense is that this is a very powerful combination.
After 2 weeks on this combo, I’m finally starting to feel a little better, so my thought is to continue this combo (Bicillin & core protocol) until I’m at least 2 months beyond symptom free. Do you see any problems with this idea that I should be aware of, or do you think it’s a sound idea? I’m also on Tindamax, 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off, and will be starting Rifampin as well on alternate weeks from the Tindamax. Thank you.
If the antibiotics seem to be working for you, then, with your physician’s oversight, they should be fine. Antibiotics are not contraindicated with the protocol unless I have listed some specific medication in the text of the book as being contraindicated. A couple of months after significant symptom reduction seems prudent to me. I normally think that the herbs should be continued for at least six months at a reduced dose once significant symptom reduction has occurred.
