Clearing biofilm

by | Oct 12, 2011 | biofilm, Columns, Healing Lyme, miscellaneous | 9 comments

Dear Stephen,
I’m taking nattokinase 200 mg daily, lumbrokinase 3 times daily and wobenzyme twice daily in 3 caplets. Will this clear biofilm? If not, what can I do to clear it?

Stephen’s response:
Some people think it will clear biofilm. I tend to think differently about the lyme spirochetes. I am not sure it is possible to ever truly eliminate them from the body and there is a great deal of research supporting that observation. They can be controlled however and their numbers severely limited. The trick in eliminating them, if that is what you are going to try, is to find a systemic antibiotic, whether herbal or pharmaceutical, that is specific for spirochetes and that will affect all forms. No one has found one yet. So the combination of collagen support, immune strengthening, and reduction in inflammation will usually deal with most if not all symptoms. I can’t really say what will clear all biofilms.

Stephen came from a long line of healers including Leroy Burney, Surgeon General of the United States under Eisenhower and Kennedy, and Elizabeth Lusterheide, a midwife and herbalist who worked in rural Indiana in the early nineteenth century. The greatest influence on his work, however, was his great-grandfather C.G. Harrod who primarily used botanical medicines, also in rural Indiana, when he began his work as a physician in 1911.

Stephen’s work has appeared or been profiled in publications throughout North America and Europe including Common Boundary, Apotheosis, Shaman’s Drum, The New York Times, CNN, and Good Morning America. Stephen lectured yearly throughout the United States on herbal medicine, the sacredness of plants, the intelligence of Nature, and the states of mind necessary for successful habitation of Earth.

He was a tireless advocate for the reincorporation of the exploratory artist, independent scholar, amateur naturalist, and citizen scientist in American society – especially as a counterweight to the influence of corporate science and technology.

This protocol was incredible. After only a few weeks most of my symptoms were gone. After six months all my symptoms were gone… it has given me my life back.

    Hello,

Curious why the emphasis on collagen support? I find it fascinating, considering so many of us do have compromised collagen/ligaments etc…Is this secondary to inflammatory processes?

The answer to clearing biofilms may be in the works. Check out Microbion’s website (www.microbioncorp.com) to read about the bismuth thiols, which are my invention. We have never tested them against Lyme disease, but they very effectively inhibit biofilm production in every bacteria tested, so there is hope. They are currently being developed for orthopedic and chronic wound infections, but have enormous potential in so many applications. Stay tuned.

I was just reading about the Bismuth-thiols combination for treating biofilms and it looks promising. I can’t wait to find out more and when it might become available to us in the Lyme community. What will the product be called? Any idea? I’m staying tuned, impatiently.

I’ll be monitoring this train of conversation also. Eliminating the beast completely would certainly have an advantage. ;o)

IT is interesting that Bismuth thiols have been successful in treating HPylori as well.

I am 70 years old with HBP (200/120 per dentist), Profound bilateral hearing loss, advanced periodontal disease, and parasites for four months now. I am using 25 different methods to combat them. They settle down, and then come back with a vengeance. My research indicates they are scabies, because of the horrible tracks they have left for the next generation. I look like a leper, and have to have everything covered so as not to scare anyone. Using Hulda Clark methods, sulfer cream and soap, clean diet, manuka honey medical grade, soverign silver, H202, oil of oregano, tea tree, licorice root, perioxide, acv, salt soaks, silica and other detox agents, neem, flea dip etc. I really need help before they get any farther on my face.

Try this if you’re like me, short on finances: Stop eating all gmo’s, no yeasts / breads / grains, no soy, no sugars (stevia is okay if its no-gmo), organics are hit or miss. I use Cat’s claw, Usnea and Astragalus, Cordyceps, skullcap, and detox heavy metals cloves / wormwood / black walnut.

Detox baths with 20 mule team mixed and Dawn Dish detergent with Epson salt, and lately at the advise of another Sun liquid detergent with good results.

On skin DSMO with Neem oil as it penetrates deeper, and baking soda seems to rid them off the skin. Last resort: fasting. I end up eating nothing because where I live, I can find nothing and what little they carry is expensive.

Wish I could help more as I’m suffering too my friend.
