Cryptolepis more effective than artemisinin and plaquenil?

Dear Stephen,
Your book has become my bible, as I frequently refer to it. My practitioner told me about this new treatment for babesia symptoms. I am currently taking artemisinin and plaquenil. This combination, along with clarithromycin seems to be helping, however can you tell me if cryptolepis is more effective?

Stephen’s response:
That combination is a good one. My favorite right now for babesia is a combination formula of cryptolepis, sida acuta, and alchornea cordifolia (woodlandessence.com) ¼ tsp 3-4x daily. Babesia, like lyme, is variable in its responses to treatment. Every herb or pharmaceutical is sometimes more effective than others.

Stephen came from a long line of healers including Leroy Burney, Surgeon General of the United States under Eisenhower and Kennedy, and Elizabeth Lusterheide, a midwife and herbalist who worked in rural Indiana in the early nineteenth century. The greatest influence on his work, however, was his great-grandfather C.G. Harrod who primarily used botanical medicines, also in rural Indiana, when he began his work as a physician in 1911.

Stephen’s work has appeared or been profiled in publications throughout North America and Europe including Common Boundary, Apotheosis, Shaman’s Drum, The New York Times, CNN, and Good Morning America. Stephen lectured yearly throughout the United States on herbal medicine, the sacredness of plants, the intelligence of Nature, and the states of mind necessary for successful habitation of Earth.

He was a tireless advocate for the reincorporation of the exploratory artist, independent scholar, amateur naturalist, and citizen scientist in American society – especially as a counterweight to the influence of corporate science and technology.

This protocol was incredible. After only a few weeks most of my symptoms were gone. After six months all my symptoms were gone… it has given me my life back.

Is that 1/4 teaspoon of each of the three herbs? Like 60 drops? Love

There’s actually a combination formula, called C.S.A. formula, on the woodland essence website.

Don’t have personal experience with it, but I would love to hear from others.

And from Stephen, I’d love to know how frequently that helps with babesia and Lyme, if done along with . does it improve the odds by 20%, 50%, 70%?

I am very ill. Just got back Igenex tests positive for Babesia and Lyme, I believe I also suffer from Bart, may be all exacerbated by long-term mold exposure in my old building.

I plan on following the Buhner herbs, I have already started on the core lyme protocol with some of the additions, people say I look better, but I have been sick longer than a decade and still feel terrible, everything from neuro and eye, to pain and weakness, insomnia, and a diagnosis of dercum’s disease likely caused by lyme inflammation stress, everything.

I will add the Babesia herbs soon as well. I plan on updating this site and others with any progress I make or not.

I am in Vermont and looking for a specialist in Babesia/Lyme, no confirmed hits yet. Any passersby who have a suggestion let me know.
