Stephen came from a long line of healers including Leroy Burney, Surgeon General of the United States under Eisenhower and Kennedy, and Elizabeth Lusterheide, a midwife and herbalist who worked in rural Indiana in the early nineteenth century. The greatest influence on his work, however, was his great-grandfather C.G. Harrod who primarily used botanical medicines, also in rural Indiana, when he began his work as a physician in 1911.
Stephen’s work has appeared or been profiled in publications throughout North America and Europe including Common Boundary, Apotheosis, Shaman’s Drum, The New York Times, CNN, and Good Morning America. Stephen lectured yearly throughout the United States on herbal medicine, the sacredness of plants, the intelligence of Nature, and the states of mind necessary for successful habitation of Earth.
He was a tireless advocate for the reincorporation of the exploratory artist, independent scholar, amateur naturalist, and citizen scientist in American society – especially as a counterweight to the influence of corporate science and technology.
My 10 year old son has Lyme, Babesia, and Bartonella. He has been on Mepron for 7 weeks and tomorrow I am going to start him on 350 mg Artemisiae annua L. entire plant, red-rooted sage root, and astragalus root. He weighs 78 lbs. Is this dosage okay?
Thank you so much
Hi Stephen – I was bitten by a tick around Nov 1, began taking Astragulus & LB Core herbs within 2-3 weeks, and antibiotic treatment at 4 weeks after the bite. It’s now been about 2.5 months since being bitten. I took 1000mg of Astragulus 3x/day for about 6-8 weeks at the recommendation of my doctor, and recently went down to 500 mg 2x/day. I have dissemenated Lyme and Babesia.
Is it okay to continue taking the 1000mg of Astragulus daily? I notice your core dosages say “not to be used in chronic lyme”, but I’m not sure if I fall into that category… I’m getting better, but still experiencing some symptoms.
Also taking: Bicillin LA 1.2m units IM injections 3x/week; Tindamaz; Zithromax and Malarone & Nystatin (all per Horowitz protocol).
Thanks so much.
Is allianthus a core part of the protocol for air hunger/breathing issues related to babesia? I have seldom heard of it, as opposed to CSA which everyone talks about. Should I take alliathus to relieve air hunger?
