I have huge confusion over the species of Sida acuta (Burm F) via the USDA, India, other websites. “Burm F” is lumped together with common wireweed-cordifolia-rhombifolia L-tea weed-broom weed-horn leaf sida-clock plant… but there seems to be at least 2 distinct species by differing common names on other pages/botany sites. (India lists 5, including mysorensis, rhombifolia-metusa, all of medicinal use without mentioning infection to discern, and uses are greatly differing, but no Indian colloquial name for medicinal herb “wireweed/burm f” is noted with it, as if it’s not usually sold). Which species exactly is helpful for coinfections? Correct foreign names and common names would be very helpful to find the proper herb on the Internet as so many sources differ in the names. I cannot find the herb at all after an in-depth search over many days, except seeds from Belize. I cannot afford the drops via your link, as we have four in our family living below poverty level, and drat, the herb doesn’t grow in my state.
Sida is presently somewhat hard to find commercially and there are, as yet, no companies selling the herb in bulk – in spite of the fact that it is a potent medicinal used in both Africa and Asia. I suspect that will change fairly soon. The plant is common throughout the Gulf Coast regions of the US, especially in Florida. One approach is to see if any herbalists in that region will harvest it for you. As to the species used, most can be. The ones I recommend are Sida acuta (most of the research has been on this member of the genus) and then Sida rhombifolia, then Sida cordifolia. You can get cordifolia a few places, here is one: everyherbal.com and here is another: discountremediesinc.com. I have no idea as to their quality. I would not recommend buying cordifolia from weight loss manufacturers.
I live in Miami and I wouldn’t mind sending… if you’d like some. Would be nice to see someone get good out of it!
Stephen, I am in Australia and having great trouble getting hold of Sida acuta as it is a prescribed weed. I just want to double check that sida cortifolia will have the similar strength addressing babesia and bartonella (not just sinus benefits :-) )
Hi Tara,
The Q & A is no longer open to new questions but you can search the archives to find answers to your questions. I found this one regarding Sida cordifolia: https://buhnerhealinglyme.com/herbs/confusion-over-sida/ and there may be more. Use the search tool or the navigation menus to find past Q & As. Hello,
This may be old news, but here it is. I found sida Acuta cordifolia (Bala Beej Churna) by “Nidco, “on eBay, (powder form). I just made the capsules and am about to initiate this, into my herbal regime, mostly as per recommended by Dr. Buhner, for treatment of a combo of tickborne illnesses.
Thank you for your post.

Hello Ralph,
I am also a resident of Southern Florida, and I have an interest in growing the Sida Plant and order a starter supply of the dried Sida Acuta herb from you if you still have any. I’m willing to grow from seeds if necessary, but transplanting a few shoots or young plant may be more efficient.
Please message me about details for ordering the Sida Acuta from you, and thank you for the offering to people on Buhner’s site.

I get a lot of herbs from them, they have Sida. I don’t know how quality they are, just started a few weeks ago.
Hello Stephen Buhner,
Thank you so much for all that you have done for herbalism! I have been in the medicinal seed trade for 35 years and had never heard of Sida before reading it in Herbal Antibiotics. Now I use it every day.
Because of this I have written a Sida reference book:
Sida acuta, Sida cordifolia, Sida rhombifolia, Etc.
Everything Science and Tradition Knows About the World’s Best Herbal Antibiotics, Used by Millions of People Every Day, Top Ayurvedic Herbs, Protein-Rich Survival Plants, Superior Fiber, Grow Them with Your Tomatoes
ISBN = 978-0-9748799-3-2
LCCN = 2018901425
567 pages 809 citations Price $29.45
I have combined all known peer-review research around the world with much of the traditional uses included.
I have a lot of information on Sidas and this book on my website (bbruneau.com). I am also coming out with a small 48 page booklet that is a users guide to sida, just identifying, growing, harvesting, and making simple medicinals.
I would be delighted to send you a copy of my book if you can give me a mailing address.
You set me on this path,
Bill Bruneau

I am in Central Florida and I have a large quantity of sida acuta growing on my farm. I use no chemicals here because, well, they’re chemicals. Also, I have free range chickens to think of. I have begun selling some of our local herbs if anyone is still looking for this.
Donna,
Would you let me know the cost of a lb of dried Sida acuta?
Also, the cost to ship.
Thank you!
Betsy
HI Gloria, see that you have access to plants of one of the Sidas, not clear which one. Do you know species? I’m a bortanist and likely could figure that out with a specimen… I grow out and make seeds of the medicinals available. Is it something you could provide some seeds of? Would be happy to trade you seeds for anything in the collection I curate. Laurie Lange
HI Ralph, reading over the healing Lyme site on topic of Sida
I see you have some S acuta. I grow out seeds of medicinals and make them available so folks can grow and tincture their own. Would you be able to provide me with some seeds of this? I’d be happy to do an exchange, the seed collection I curate has over 6 doz culinary and medicinal herbs in it. We have around 350 different items in all.
Hi, Donna. I am looking to buy a few pounds of soda acute. Would love to get in touch with you for this medicine!

I would like to buy 5 pound of sida acuta. Natasha
Greeting’s all, I gave a sida acuta plant and several very small volunteers. I purchased it from a reputable herb guild. I found this site because I was researching if it could help my lungs. I’m pretty sure I’m dealing with residual lung damage of Covid. If anyone has ideas to help my situation or If I can help someone by obtaining a very little volunteer Sida Acuta you can email me at [email protected]
Hi Renae,
You may try reading Stephen Buhner’s posts about his COVID protocol on his Facebook page. He’s been updating it there. He may be able to give you some direct feedback. Best, Julie
