Whether you are experiencing a real exposure or merely conjuring one up in your mind (e.g. imagine yourself chained to a perfume counter, with opened bottles all around you), focus on how it makes you feel. Fear? Anxiety? You want to run away? Physical overreaction to a stimuli? Pick the worst negative feeling at a time. Rate it on a scale of 1-10 and notice where in your body you feel it. Then start tapping:

middle of eyes on forehead – This fear and/or overreaction to chemicals and/or smells, I let it go.

side of eye – It’s okay to let it go.

below eye – It’s safe to let it go.

collarbone – This overreaction had a purpose in the past, but that’s over now.

I’m okay now.

It’s me (my limbic system) doing this to me.
I forgive myself for doing this to me.
It’s safe to let this overreaction go.
I’m going to miss it.
It certainly kept me occupied for a long time.
What will I do now with all the free time and energy?
But I let it go.
I enjoy being healthy and resilient.
It’s safe to let it go.
I let it go.

hold wrist – Take a deep breath in, exhale and say “peace” (you can go into a peaceful memory here and really feel the peace).

Repeat as often as necessary.

When you are out in public you can use this technique by imagining you are tapping, and saying the words in your head. Your brain is smart enough to get the same benefit. I personally do find it more effective to tap physically but it still works when imagining the tapping.

The above “script” can be used as a guideline. You can add or subtract what you like, this is just what works for me.

I found it really helpful to dig deep into why my brain decided it needed to be hypersensitive in the first place, and then tapped on that. At the time of my initiation into the MCS club, I was being bombarded with sensitizing airborne stimuli. But I was also dealing with lots of scary stuff, like fresh memories from a personal case of pneumonia, dangerous reaction to antibiotics, and traumatic memories looking after my dying mother. Looking back with all that I’ve come to understand, I really believe that my brain’s fear centre got overloaded and ultimately concluded, “NOT SAFE!” The smells and chemicals represented the DANGER that I was being subjected to, and from this point on every time I was exposed to anything remotely similar to these chemicals, my amygdala ran the flight-or-fight program that wreaked havoc with my health. Doing all this tapping is replacing the old “NOT SAFE!” program with the “SAFE AND RELAX” program.

I have a faster version yet, based on what you had written before you wrote this blog:

Center of forehead: “I release and let go…

    > Side of eye: of over-reaction and hypersensitivity…

    > Under eye: to scents and chemicals… (and sometimes “and other stressors”)

    > Collarbone: (and emotional trauma) and everything else. It is safe to let it go.”

    > Hold wrist, breathe in and out deeply: “Peace”

    > Imagine a bright and healing light, moving into the bottoms of my feet, up my legs, up my torso, up and into my head, glowing out from me. Hold that thought a few seconds. Smile.

    Repeat as needed.

I used this to go into a quilt shop, an office supply store, a car wash, and a Joanne’s Fabrics and Crafts store, and smelled NOTHING!!!, and had NO REACTION the next day either. This stuff WORKS!

Wendy, did you use then before you went into these places or during your visits?

I’ve been exploring with Faster EFT too. I just came from a Dollar Store that was pretty tough going for the MCS overreaction and I’m wondering if it would be good to do the Faster EFT before going in, during and after if necessary. I made it out not too badly but was pretty tense waiting in line to pay for the glasses.

Any advice much appreciated. And thanks TCan and Wendy.

Thank you so much for sharing your version here, Wendy! It helps to see how people are adapting these exercises for their own use. Bravo to T-Can, Wendy and every one of you adventurous brain retraining pioneers!

It’s okay to post links to PT here but unless people are a member of PT, they won’t be able to access the discussion. I will post the video here so everyone can access it. It is a wonderful video to watch if you have MCS even if you don’t want to do FasterEFT. I actually resonate with her story very much…the lyme, mold, emotional component, etc. Thank you T-Can!!!

    I am doing Faster EFT.

I could use any advice on the following:

    1. At first I was passing out cold by the time i got to the wrist.
2.Now, I get to the wrist and sway violently and have violent nausea in every cell of the body, including disabling brain nausea.

But I keep doing Faster EFT all day long on the above 1 and 2 situations as well. I am hoping that 1 and 2 will correct themselves after the current situation is resolved: I am still running from high methane/H2S gas on my property, and so is my well (not sick) partner. Our dogs have to be removed from the gas as well. I am calm during the removal off the property, but very, very exhausted to the core trying to do Faster EFT during the seizures. (tap tap tap)

Any ideas on how to use Faster EFT to remove 1 and 2 from my life?

T- Can or Wendy do you have a script for using Faster EFT directly on Electrical issues? Or did the electrical component clear itself just by doing the Faster EFT on daily basis?

  7. T-Can

e.i. — I wrote a reply to this a few days ago but it must have gotten lost. I have heard of cases where people have trained solely for mcs yet experienced relief of symptoms of other environmental illnesses.

I don’t have a specific script for electrical sensitivities, but I would imagine using a similar script for mcs and just replacing “chemical” with “electrical” would be a good place to start. Like this:

middle of eyes on forehead – This fear and/or overreaction to electricity and radio waves, I let it go.

side of eye – It’s okay to let it go.

below eye – It’s safe to let it go.

collarbone – This overreaction had a purpose in the past, but that’s over now.

Remember to think about, feel, or imagine the problem before you tap on anything. That is how Robert Smith says you aim it at something, which is more important than what you say. He calls this noticing how you notice there is a problem.

  9. T-Can

    Good point rad!

  10. kimmergy

wendy, like ur faster script…very good, i do something similar, depending on the moment. sometimes run energy all around the body…its amazing how the smile just pops))

  11. Becca

Thank you, T-Can for this blog and all the comments. I am strongly considering starting DNR or Gupta next month, but think I will try some of this first. I have heard of it in the past through my husband and mom….way before I had any of these symptoms. But I am going to start tapping today and see how it goes for the next few weeks adding this to my other healing modalities. Looking forward to trying this!

  12. youpi

Hi everyone. Thank you for the site and the testimonies are help me a lot to understand my MCS and that I can be better. I just put on name on what I have 3 weeks ago and I know now it’s treatable and for a week I watched on you tube and apply EFT first now faster EFT.

I don’t know if it’s okay to post questions but i know nowhere to have answers!

1- is it normal to get dizzy for seconds immediately after EFT or faster EFT?

2- I do EFT and faster EFT in English. is it going to work even if English isn’t my mother tongue but i understand and feel in English jut fine! it’s hard for me to get a script or create one in my language?

3- does Eft just shut the feelings towards the chemicals but the damage is still going on in my body I just can’t feel it? this is my major concern.

thanks a lot for reading and answering :)!

  13. Bernie

Hi t-can reviewing and trying your ideas for the faster eft script for mcs where am i tapping for that long paragraph after the collarbone & before the wrist?

  14. t-can

Bernie–I always tended to tap a lot on my collarbone. It doesn’t matter what point you tap on as far as I’m concerned. the main thing is to tap, feel the fingertips, and let it go. you don’t even have to say the long part of the script, at least not every time. You can also shorten it.

As soon as I noticed the beginning of a reaction (or even thought about a past or anticipated reaction or mcs illness in general), I found it important to

    A. Immediately acknowledge that this reaction/thought etc was just my limbic system overreacting to something that most people don’t have a problem with
    B. Assure the limbic system that its ok to let go of the overreaction
    C. Let it go
    D. Go to a peaceful place and make yourself feel all warm and fuzzy

Do those things while tapping. The “script” I wrote is just a guideline for following those basic steps. Feel free to tailor the words and where you tap when you say them. Play with it, don’t worry about “getting it just right”. Sometimes I would just say “let it go” at each point, then go to a peaceful place in my mind and memory when I got to the wrist. The tapping is useful in interrupting the limbic system trauma pathway, and the peace place is where you eventually collapse the trauma neuron. Your brain can’t produce good and bad feelings at the same time.

Hope you have fun with it!

Hi, can this technique be used on mold allergy and cat allergy also? I haave allergic reaktion in my home on something, maybe cats or something on carpet. I have also issues with mold exposure.

I believe MCS was a form of PTSD, at least for me

by T-Can | When my friend shared with me her MCS recovery, she said to me, “I don’t believe it is a coincidence that you have gotten MCS while you are still grieving.” It didn’t make sense to me then …but now I believe she was correct. My MCS was a PTSD response.
