Does mycoplasma protocol cover all forms of mycoplasma?

Dear Stephen,
Thank you so much for your thorough natural recommendations for getting rid of mycoplasma. I have a question for you: my husband was shown to have mycoplasma pneumonia (and lyme, and probably a lot more)…regarding the herbs to be taken for mycoplasma, does this cover killing off all forms of mycoplasma? In my research, it appears that each form requires a different antibiotic – are all forms effectively treated under this one herbal umbrella? Thanks a million and many, many blessings.

Stephen’s response:
The mycoplasma protocol, in its depth, is long. Primarily because the organism scavenges so many nutrients from the body in order to survive. The protocol is altered depending on what part of the body is primarily infected and also the symptom picture. In general Chinese skullcap, cordyceps, isatis, houttuynia and sida acuta will take care of most of the problems but that is just a shorthand for the whole thing, which will be out in the book in April of 2013 from Inner Traditions. As an example: if it is in the urinary tract bidens and uva ursi need to be used; in the cervix, a berberine plant; in the lungs, a combination of lung antimicrobials – all these in addition to the basic protocol. And yes, the herbal protocol will, in general, treat all the different species that exist.

This protocol was incredible. After only a few weeks most of my symptoms were gone. After six months all my symptoms were gone… it has given me my life back.

My 30-year old daughter often has ear infections. She has been taking antbiotics for about a year for her lyme and co-infections and has had problems with candida at times which she works at addressing She has food intolerances as well. I am learning that mycoplasma can cause these infections too. Could you please recommend anything to help her address ear infections that may be caused by mycoplasma. Thanks.

Had mycoplasma pneumonia for years and I just got off a months worth of levofloxacin which worked for a while and I was feeling much better. But then started to have pain in my feet again. I took the Cordyceps. The pain in my feet felt better after just a few days. It worked just as well as even the levofloxacin for me. Thank you so much for doing this research.

Hello, I’m looking for a good herbal treatment for Lyme and mycoplasma pneumoniae. I’ve been on doxycycline for almost 6 months and I was on a bout of zithromyiacin for a couple months. I’ve since stopped the zithromyiacin, but want off antibiotics all together. I feel much better than I did, but I would rather give an herbal protocol a try as I was one to never take meds until Lyme diagnosis.

    Thanks in advance!!

I noticed under Q & A- Mycoplasma you mention gluten free diet, and to stay away from white sugar and nuts. In the “Healing Lyme Disease Confections….” book, I believe I read nuts are needed for mycoplasma. Forgive me, as I’m trying to sort through and balance many ailments (mycoplasma, bartonella, possibly babesia, systemic yeast, breast cancer, Epstein Barr). Thank you.

    Hi Mjm,
Stephen no longers answers questions for the Q & A but I looked in the Mycoplasma book and on page 120 found his recommendation to eat 1 Brazil nut every other day. He says that you need it to replace nutrients scavenged by the mycoplasma. If there are discrepancies between the Q & A responses and his books, I would always follow the more recent response as he is constantly updating his protocols based on responses from the field and new research. I believe in this case his book would be more recent. Best, Julie

No where can i find a duration for mycoplasma protocol. Especially for the isatis which in his book he indicates should not be long term. How long should one continue the core protocol? Thank you so much.

  11. Renee

hi There – Just so I am clear – the most recent protocol for Mycoplasma would be found in the 2013 edition of the book?
    thanks.

Hi There! I was just sent to your website from another parent. I was given the book “America is Infected” by a friend, which is where I learned about Mycoplasma. I had my daughter tested via PCR, and she has one of the strains at least (out of like 20 strains, but don’t know which one.)

Two questions. One is would it be good to test for the specific strain, and if she doesn’t have one of the virulent to human ones, do you just leave it be?

The second question is, I am not sure which of my kiddo’s symptoms are actually related to Myco. She has down Syndrome and Autism, and she is very OCD. But I see above that you tailor some of the herbs to the symptoms. How does one do that when one doesn’t know what is causing what symptom? Or does it matter?

    Thanks for any help.

Regarding Bidens Pilosa…is Bidens Vulgata a possible substitute and are the medicinal qualities similar?

    Hi
Can you please tell me if there is a book that I can purchase that may assist me with treating mycoplasma genitalium?
    Thank you

Hi there, you mentioned OCD and other issues with your child. Please read up on PANDAS ( mycoplasma can at times attack the brain if child has issues with immune system). Be Blessed.

  16. Shari Pfister

In your book Herbal Antibiotics you have a protocol for mycobacteria Tuberculosis does that same protocol work for mycobacteria abcessus? That is what I’m dx with.
    Thank you

  17. Kim McCain

Can the same mycoplasma also cause Rheumatoid arthritis and can it also be treated with some of the protocols.?

  18. Angela

Just moved from Denver to Florida and my controlled Chronic Lyme has flared. Is there anything to treat mold on a continual basis?

  19. John Anderson

Jay, I also have the same bacterial infection. It’s awful. Have you been able to get rid of it?
If so, can you please share how you did it? I’m am currently struggling with a resistant strain of mycoplasma genitalium and tried many antibiotics, which all have failed to treat it. If anyone has any experience with this please feel free to chime in.

    Thank you!

  20. Sean

Hey John, are you still dealing with MGen? I’m in the same boat and battling a resistant strain. Azithromycin, Moxifloxacin, Minocyline and Pristinamycin have all failed to treat it. What have you used so far? I’m starting the Buhner protocol to see if it helps as I’ve spoken to several people with MGen and/or ureaplasma who found it quite helpful.

  21. Michelle

I unknowingly had ureaplasma for 3 months with extreme burning urge to pee ect. After 4 rounds of antibiotics, My test result is negative but I still feel the same. I don’t feel like the antibiotics worked. Now I’m researching Biofilms. Please help.

  22. Adrienne

I had ureaplasma in May and June and doxycycline worked for me. My urine culture grew E.coli so I took macrobid for that. They found the ureaplasma with a cervical culture swab. I used biocidin herbal suppository capsules. I believe you have to obtain them from a practitioner like a chiropractor, functional med doc etc.

  23. Ariel P

Michelle, i got rid of my ureaplasma with Jarrow Femmedophilus probiotics. I took 2 per day for 3 months. At first I tried doxycycline to no avail. Femmedophilus was recommended by my gyno. I hope this is helpful.
