Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this. I have been ill for 5 years (I am 38, former kindergarten teacher) and within the past year have developed severe “idiopathic” generalized dystonia. I believe it is caused by the lyme, but one integrated doctor was over his head when I was hospitalized for 4 days last summer with it and doubted whether it was lyme at all (even though he had been treating me for lyme for 9 months). I am what they call “borderline lyme” as it shows in my IgG more strongly but only in 4 bands (not so strongly in my IgM). The next LLMD began treatment and I had severe dystonic reactions to sarsparilla, 5-HTP, plaquenil and 200mg of diflucan for 2 weeks. I am desperately searching for a new LLMD but obviously need to be careful and need the LLMD to take Medicare (I know, it’s an oxymoron with my situation). Thank you so much and bless you with the work you are doing to help people like me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I would suggest you try the following:
1) Herbal tincture mix of Chinese skullcap (elkmountainherbs.com), lion’s mane tincture https://www.beneficialbotanicals.com/store/Lions-Mane-Tincture-p88843999 and kudzu tincture (no suggestions on source yet).
2) Cordyceps capsules, Plum Flower brand, 3000 mg 2-3x daily (Note from editor: If you click on the 1st Chinese Herbs ad below this post, you can get the code for 10% off this brand. Once on the 1st Chinese Herbs website, click on “cordyceps” under Speciality Pages in the left column.)
And see if this helps. If it is going to help you should notice a difference within 90 days.
What does tincture mean. I’m new here and notice that you recommend it a lot.
Hi ,
I am a former sufferer of dystonia and want to offer you my support if you are still struggling with this awful disorder or another neurological disorder.
I have put many years of my life into helping dystonia sufferers find relief, and through my efforts was able to get a medical study done at Johns Hopkins Medical Center with the program that helped me.
It is my pleasure and privilege to work full time in helping dystonia sufferers find relief and get educated
on the health fundamentals that I have discovered that can make a huge difference on improving one’s health.
I have been effective in helping dozens of dystonia sufferers find relief and have worked with those in
22 countries and 48 states. Please feel free to call me if you would like to learn more about my work
and how I have been helping others.
There is nothing more enjoyable than seeing those I work with find the relief and hope as I received many years ago.

Hi Barry,
A tincture is an extract of an herb usually preserved in alcohol or glycerin.
Hello, To the writer with Dystonia; I also have dystonia, cervical. I was diagnosed 6 years ago. Long story short, I just found out I have lyme three weeks ago. Are the two related? I am certain they probably are. The scariest part is can this be undone after having lyme for so long. Did you try Stephens recommendations and if so, how did they go?
Best wishes!
Hello Steven, I have never, in 6 years read anything like your comment here, what an amazing discovery to find someone on your mission. I was diagnosed with cervical dystonia 6 years ago, now, 3 weeks ago I have been diagnosed with Lyme. I have no recollection of pulling a tick off of me. I would be so grateful to hear what you have to share with me, specifically to lyme. I set up a call through your website. Best wishes. ~ Leah
Dear Stephen,
I have had anxiety for years but have also developed cervical dystonia which was really brought on by some tramatic deaths in my family which seemed to make me always feel on edge and unable to relax. Can you help please.
I was DC with cervical dystonia in August this year, have had lyme disease for several years, had an injection of Botox and I did not have any good results with it, not sure what to do, only relief is heat, massage and chiropractic, had to do 6 weeks PT, didn’t help much. This is affecting me , ? How much longer I can work, any suggestions, I eat clean, exercise and stretch daily. ? Surgical intervention
Hello, I am healing my 7 year old son. He has experienced glutamate storms that show as stinging pains. In my study lion’s mane can cross the blood brain barrier and scavenge free glutamate. He has also shown generalized early onset dystonia symptoms that seem to be acetylcholine storms. We are using mushrooms to calm the acetylcholine with great success. I would like to use lion’s mane to clear out the free glutamate yet I have reservations about possibly over stimulating the cholinergic system. I appreciate your thought in this matter. Kind regards and thank you for sharing.
I’m not sure if anyone is available to till answer questions. I have had chronic neurological Lyme for 12 yrs. I currently am dealing with a b mmh another fjj ok are up abd have symptoms that make me think I gave dystonia now. Is that possible
Hi Janet,
Stephen no longer answers the Q & A here but other readers sometimes share comments with each other. I don’t understand what you wrote, though. What is a b mmh and fjj?
