Mold neurotoxicity with lyme

Dear Stephen,
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the public service you are providing. You inspire! I’ve been on your lyme protocol for a month. I also have mold neurotoxicity (diagnosed by Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker, whose work you may know) from working in a sick building. I am wondering if you can recommend additional herbs I can take in conjunction with the lyme herbs to detoxify my body from mold. Both are neurotoxic illnesses from what I understand. Perhaps the lyme herbs are sufficient for treating the mycotoxins? Thank you, many blessings to you and your staff.
Stephen’s response:
I would suggest two combination formulas:
Isatis, alchornea, lomatium, licorice tincture – equal parts of each (try woodlandessence.com), ¼ tsp 3x daily for one month (to see how it works for you) and Chinese skullcap, rhodiola, kudzu root tincture – equal parts, same dosage.
You will have to buy each of these tinctures separately and combine them yourself as I don’t know of anyone who has all three. Elk Mountain Herbs carries the skullcap, I would use Herb Pharm rhodiola, and you can try this for the kudzu root: newwayherbs.com
I would use the second combination for at least three months and longer if you think it is working for you. If the first one seems to help, keep on taking it as well, for a few months.

This protocol was incredible. After only a few weeks most of my symptoms were gone. After six months all my symptoms were gone… it has given me my life back.

Hi – does anyone know if that means a 1/4 tsp of isatis + 1/4 tsp of alchornea + 1/4 tsp of lomatium + 1/4 tsp of licorice OR is that 1/4 tsp of a combined stew of all those 4 ingredients?? thank you!! Best to everyone,
    Tee

It means 1/4 tsp of a combined mixture of all 4 ingredients. Each of the separate ingredients is at a ratio of 1:1:1:1. In other words, you could combine 1oz of each of those four tinctures (total of 4 oz), mix well. Then take 1/4 tsp of that mixture (containing all 4 herbs) 3x day for one month.

    thanks for the clarification !!

Hi Thank you for imparting this priceless information, this website is a God-send for those of struggling to maintain some semblance of a life fighting Bb, mycotoxins, and the lot.
Could you please tell us if the lyme and mold treatements need to separated / staggered for best results?
Thank you all a million times over
    Patti

Do you need to take both combinations at the same time? I am unable to find a source for Lomatium, can you suggest a more up to date source? Can I do this treatment in addition to core protocol for Lyme and co-infections? Or is this something I would do at a later time?

Natasa, I bought Lomatium from Elk Mountain Herbs. http://www.elkmountainherbs.com They still have it right now.

    Hi Anna,
Apologies but the Q & A is closed to new questions at this time. You can try writing to Stephen through his website http://gaianstudies.org/Contact.html. I am not a physician, or an herbalist or mold specialist. But as a patient myself, I would say to take mold toxin binders at least 2x day at least 90 minutes away from all food, herbs and medications. Mold toxin binders include cholestyramine, activated charcoal, bentonite clay, and zeolite clay. Here is a list of biotoxin illness physicians, I hope you can find someone in your area to help you navigate this process. http://planetthrive.ning.com/forum/topics/biotoxin-illness-physician-list Best, Julie

    Hi Anna,
Mold toxin binders that I know of and have used personally include cholestyramine, activated charcoal, bentonite clay, and zeolite clay. You need to take mold toxin binders at least 2x day at least 90 minutes away from all food, herbs and medications. I recommend working with a mold specialist, especially since you have not moved your bowels in 2 months. It might be dangerous to take the binders before you are able to move your bowels. Please check with a physician who has experience in this area. Best wishes to you. Julie

I have mold toxicity and possibly Lyme. Should I try the mold treatment above and then move to the Lyme protocol? Or do I need to be on the Lyme protocol first begoee treating mold?

Hi. I have a lot of experience with mold toxicity and have recovered to where I only need to be a little careful to stay out of awful buildings. What I have learned is that a) you MUST be totally out of exposure before you will make headway with detoxing from mold; this is difficult but determination will get you there. I lived in outside air for three years. I am now in a “normal” house. It won’t work to be out of exposure “most of the time” because … you have to have your intake of toxins WAY below your ability to detox, and if you can’t detox, you have to have as near to zero intake as you can get, or you won’t be able to lower the internal load. I did not make significant progress until I spent a few months on a pristine mountain top.
    b) mold must be addressed before Lyme. You won’t get much of anywhere with the Lyme if your body is also trying to deal with mold. The mold already has your detox system totally overloaded, and you don’t want to add Lyme detox on top of that.

What area did you go to live in outside air for a few years? Did you find any information about the best places / air to get zero exposure? Thanks.
