Recurring cellulitis in leg with lyme

by | Mar 10, 2013 | bacterial infections, Co-Infections, Columns, Healing Lyme | 2 comments

Dear Stephen,
I have had lyme for 4 years now and recurring cellulitis with it every 9 days. Please help because the antibiotics are not helping with the lyme or my leg. Thanks.

Stephen’s response:
Cellulitis is usually caused by a bacterial infection in one of the skin layers, usually from staph or strep. I would try cryptolepis tincture first: ½ tsp 3x daily in liquid of your choice for 30 days and see if that helps. That is a very good broad spectrum antibacterial herb which will hopefully clear it up. If it seems to help but the condition recurs after 30 days, try it again for 60 days. If this does not do it, please let me know. Try woodlandessence.com for the herb.

This protocol was incredible. After only a few weeks most of my symptoms were gone. After six months all my symptoms were gone… it has given me my life back.

What is the significance of the 30 day repeat? My symptoms all are worse on a 30 day/4 week cycle does that help determine which bug/coinfection it is?

    Hello Stephen,
My 9 year old has a tropical hookworm and cyclospora (we’ve never been anywhere tropical). Her fecal sample DNA analysis also revealed high streptococcus in her gut as well. Western blot test had only 1 band light up. Our functional medical doctor would like to put her on an herbal mix (pill) of black walnut, wormwood, berberine, olive leaf, and artemisnin.
We’ve already done the pharmaceutical antibiotics and pin-X.
Any thoughts on the herbal mix? To me, it seems like a good mix for the parasites. Though, I’d like to get the strep undercontrol (she has intense OCD). Thank you for your time,
    Erin
