Cannabis

Dear Stephen,
There has been a lot of talk in recent years about the combined benefits of CBD and THC oil. Cancer patients, MS patients and now also lyme patients reporting good results with this treatment. What are you views on the role of cannabis in lyme healing?
Stephen’s response:
For some people it is essential; it really can help. For others, though, it may not. See here: Why Cannabis Affects People Differently

This protocol was incredible. After only a few weeks most of my symptoms were gone. After six months all my symptoms were gone… it has given me my life back.

I did not find CBD alone sufficient, Stephen’s right, it is a combination of THC and CBD and there are many ways to dose without insulting your lungs. Anti Inflammatory and sleep inducing think “Indica species for sleep”. You can tincture undried green leaf for CBG, but need to decarb, activate whatever your choice of words is, before tincturing to get a full spectrum tincture. The research continues, but the feds did crack the door for research without restriction like we had when only Univ of Miss had unlimited research.

Hi Julie, I would like to share my story about cannibis. First of all, I had been using marijuana for 20 years for control of my grand mal seizures. I am probably the one that has used this method the longest, with success. I got Lyme disease around 2013, but didnt know I had it. But when I found that people with Lyme were using cannibis oil or “CO” for treating their Lyme, I knew it would help me. Originally, I had been on Dr. Buhner’s protocol when I began taking the CO, but both were too tough, so I dropped Dr. Buhners and only used CO. It worked great, it took the cysts away from behind my knees, it took the calf pain away along with the pain on the soles of my feet. Then, about 9 months into it, I was without my CO for about 6 weeks and I could feel the symptoms slowly creeping back in my legs. Around this same time, I underwent gastro testing as we felt Lyme was in my vagus nerve causing me to have difficulty swallowing and stomach emptying along with a painful patch along my cheek/jaw. The CO had not touched these gastro problems, despite the good it did with my ortho problems. So now I have added Dr. Buhners protocol back in, along with lions mane for the vagus nerve, along with the CO. In my situation, it was just not getting rid of all the Lyme and honestly, I shouldnt have had symptoms return after only being without it for 6 weeks. BUT, I wouldnt downplay the good use CO has in the treatment of Lyme. I am able to sleep good with it and it helps with pain, plus it does work as a treatment for killing the bugs too. Wish me luck though as it appears the Lions mane is not working that well either.

I used a home made cannabis tincture and it was nothing short of miraculous on one particular thing related to Lyme. I had had this constant 24/7 mind numbing brain fatigue that kept me “under” for several years!! I can not articulate how debilitating and severe this was and how long it was present but in LESS than 1 week of this tincture, it was lifted! 75% at the least. It was undeniable.I could begin to tell results within 3 days. although I still have Lyme related issues, this brain thing has never returned at that level of debilitation, not even close. It did also help with sleep. I have not found CBD oil as effective and plan to return to tincture of cannabis.

Where to find this tincture of cannabis? And made with the flower, or with the leaves?

  6. bapu

The CBD part comes mostly from the leaves; in the resin of ripened flowers is the THC found. When you order CBD-oil online, then note that is is for Lyme treatment. Some producers do send you THC and CBD oil mixed in one bottle. In Holland only CBD oil with less than 0,02% THC is allowed to advertise/deliver.

Tess, can you share how you made your tincture, and what ratio? Thanks!

  8. Sue

Hey, Tess, I hope you come back to read this. What was your process for tincture? Only green or dried ? Ratio leaves and buds,? Thanks for your help!

Will be juicing cannabis very soon along with using the CBD oil. My caretaker is not only a nurse but also has lyme herself. She has had huge success with juicing the leaves. No THC either which my body dislike immensely. I have used tinctures, edibles and tried vaping. I cannot vape, it hurts my lungs. My sativa tincture helped pain a lot but increase my anxiety. Edibles help with sleep hugely and the salves help with pain. I am anxious to begin juicing.
